Decoupage using inkjet printed tissue paper...my experience

Well...I'm not sure...
Printing on the tissue paper is quite tricky...The ink bleeds a bit... so I'm not happy really...will need to think about something else....
I was making pictures throughout the whole process, will upload them while my disks are drying up...
By the way, does anyone know how long it takes for the PVA glue to get completely dry?

Ok, the pictures......
What I've done was
1) I've cut the tissue paper to a size slightly bigger then normal A4 paper
2) taped my tissue paper on to A4 paper using sealer tape
3) the printer I was using was the HP inkjet printer and
4) photo ink for best quality and water resistance

5) Printing the image on the tissue paper..
6) It didn't come out too bad, but I've noticed that the ink bled slightly :((( Not ideal :(
7) Then I've sprayed my image with acrylic sealer, stinky!!! I actually feel seek because it stank so chemical. Had to open all my windows.
8) Left the paper to dry. And made some polymer clay discs in the mean time.

9) Oh and...I've realised that I didn't have sircle cutter for polymer clay and I quickly made my own by cutting and shaping a foil tray :)
10) I've used the diy cutter to draw sircles on the tissue paper.
11) cut them out while the tissue paper was still attached to the normal paper.
12) my ready baked polymer clay discs :)

13, 14, 15) I've glued the tissue paper circles to my polymer clay base...

Now I'm waiting for them to dry...
Have I done everything right?
Not too sure......They look ok, but will the paper stay on? )))
Will seeeeeeee...

Decoupage using inkjet printed tissue paper...

Ok, I still don't know if I will be able to do it, but I have finally received all the stuff I need to try it out!
I've been discussing the idea with some lovely craftsforum people but nobody seam to have had an experience with printing image on tissuepaper with the inkjet printer and then using it for decoupage. So wish me good luck, I am going to try it today :)))

White Tiger Beads!

Ok, finally!!!
God, it takes me ages getting the pictures ready! Longer then making the beads anyway...

Aren't they Brilliant??? :)))
I even made a special banner for them, just need to list them for sale now :)

Snakeskin, white tiger cane, beads

Crazy morning.
My little girl didn't want to go to nursery today...I've tried persuading and bribing, nothing worked today. I ended up escaping through the back door, leaving her with her teacher crying. I hate this. This is not like Mila at all. She is usually a very happy girl. I think she is getting frustrated because she can't understand people around her...She is sooo much happier in the russian nursery, where everybody speak the same language as her.
I'm just hoping she will pick up english quickly. Because it brakes my heart seing her like this. (((
People suggest I should start speaking english with her at home. I won't. I want her to be bilingual. If we start speaking english, she won't learn russian.
Anyway :) I've done some claying yesterday night. Was aiming for a snakeskin pattern cane...Well...i dunno. Yesterday I was quite happy about the cane but today I think it doesn't look like snakeskin at all ))) Made some beads, just need to take and upload the pictures.

I've also made some new tiger beads! White tiger this time :) I love them :)
Will come back this afternoon with the pics :)

I'm trying to bring more traffic to my new online store....OMG it's sooo difficult...I wish I could afford to pay somebody to do it for me. It's driving me crazy ))) SEO, SEF links, backlinks, google analytics, site maps...don't want to read about this anymore lol
I deffinatelly need to try and get search engines to index my product pictures. Hope it will bring some customers in :) At the moment none of my pictures are showing in google :(  But I have changed something in my robots.txt file and hoping it will do the trick lol
I'm really proud of myself though. Think my website looks good considering that I have done it all by myself and this is my first propper website :)

Hi :)

Hi, I'm Kate and I’m based in United Kingdom. I have always wanted to write a blog and here I a, this is my first ever post! :)
I have started making my own jewellery to occupy myself while I was off work looking after my baby daughter. I love Pandora style jewellery and I wanted to make something similar myself. It soon became my hobby as I was enjoying the process sooo much. I've started selling my creations to fund my "obsession" and that's how I’ve ended up with my own little business. The name SafariBeads came from my best selling line of animal print European beads.

How I make my beads.

To tell the long story short: I design them, I polymer clay them, I bake them, I sand them, I buff them, I polish them.....Sometimes I let my now three year old daughter Mila help me with that as she seems to be very interested in jewellery making )) But don't worry, I always inspect the beads for any imperfections before I sell it :) It is a long process and it takes a lot of effort to produce a single bead but I enjoy the process and love the outcome :)
